Fantastic torch, great for dog walking and photography !
Hello !

LED LENSER X21-R

I bought this torch about a month ago, having bought 2 of the single CREE-led based P7 'Lenser' torches initiallyt, I wanted something a bit brighter ! The torch comes in a large vac-formed plastic protective case, with a range of accessories, including a shoulder strap (found this to be really handy given the size of the thing and weight) and tripod mounting, if you want to use this with an optinal tripod (more on this later)

What are the key points :

Good:
* Extremely bright crisp white light
* Focussable - very useful when walking dogs in the park and looking for dropped tennis/squeakly balls, thus a money saver, preventing having to buy replacement balls.
* Reasonable battery life - on full power, so far this has lasted around 3 hours. This might improve with more rechahrges, it has only has only had four charges so far.
* Acts as a hand warmer, the head gets warm in use so good for the hands...

TERRIFIC! Perfect light to read Harry Potter or any Book!
It does really only light up the one page like the photo's show! The light is not harsh on your eyes. I would recommend getting a Protective Case for it so it does not scratch. It still would be protected if you left it in the book. The Light Wedge does stay in the book if you are in a rush to class.

I am also surprised at how durable it was. I had it shipped across seas, and my mailman just plopped it through the slot before I could catch it. I thought it was broken - but it works great.

What I think is a great personal touch is the 7 different On/Off plastic tab switches to choose from. They are:

Hogwart's Crest

Hedwig

Two wands in a Duel

A Broomstick

TRI Wizard Cup

Harry Potters Glasses

The Golden Snitch - which is my favorite of the design switches.

You can choose to have your page flat against the Light Wedge, or you can also slide your page end into where the On/Off Tab...

Perfect for the Potter fan!
This is a lovely booklight - perfect for anyone but especially the Harry Potter fan in your life. The finish is exceptional and the lighting system is a brilliant concept - throwing light only across your page and not into anyone else's eyes. It is also perfect for reading in secret - no more torch under the duvet as in years gone by!

I really can't recommend this highly enough. Not only do you get the brilliant Lightwedge Book Light but you get a Harry Potter one!

What more could you seriously ask for?

Expensive, but seems excellent
I received this torch only some days ago, so this is a first impression only.
The torch seems robust, with the switch at the bottom with four modes, boost 800 lumens for 3 minutes maximo, high mode 400 lumens, reduced mode 170 and a strobo mode.
So it is very similar to a P7 led lenser only it is bigger and stronger with a weight very good only 300gr. and seems to do what they promise.
It is expensive as comes with two li-ion batteries one to use and another substitute.
Let see if with the usage it is resistent.

Maglite AA LED
I have 9 Maglite's, 4D cell LED, 2x 3D cell, 1x AA LED Maglite, 3x normal Maglite's (1 with the upgrade) and 2x Maglite'e solitaires. You may ask .......... why so many ........ well these torches in my opinion are the best torches on the market. I work in theatre as a lighting technician so obviously spend most of my days in the dark so use my torches most of every day (often dropped to the floor from height)! So i really do test Maglite's torches to the max! They and Strong and reliable, long lasting, light, and small! and the output of the LED versions are incredible! My AA LED is as bright as my friends Lenser police torch. The batteries are longer lasting than normal torches but they wont last forever (which is what some reviewers expect) the way you know your Maglite is running out of battery is that they start to flicker ..... Change battery and all good! Now I have sent 2 of mine back under warranty due to small problems and within a few weeks i had 2 new Maglite's waiting for...

A blinding piece of kit!
Compact and bright torch, takes only 2 AA batteries which last ages too, several modes too, full brightness, power saver and two different flashing modes. The focus and spread beams work really well too, much better than the after market LED conversions you can get. A head band instead of a belt holster might be handy.

GREAT SPECIFICATION FOR A SMALL TORCH
This is a superb little torch. It has several levels of light which you adjust by lightly squeezing on the button at the tail end. These range from low level to fairly high beam and SOS flashing. A great all round torch with a well focused and intense beam. I carry mine with me everywhere - on public transport, in the car in case I break down, on walks in the country. The SOS flashing in particular is a major selling point and something I think all torches should have. It is usually far more expensive torches that have this feature. I cannot rate this product highly enough.

Light my lantern
This is a fantastic piece of kit that I would recommend to any camper/fisherman or just for general outdoor use. It is very well made and it lights first time every time. The control knob makes the light very adjustable and the gas is easy to screw on and off. If there was one thing where they could make an improvement then it would have to be the instructons. I had to look on youtube to find out how to take the globe off in order to attach the mantle which comes with it. (you push in the piece either side of the globe that the wire attaches to and lift off the globe). It mentioned nothing on how to do this in the instructions. The lantern is extremely light and it's case feels like it could handle a fair bit of abuse before you damaged the globe.

Fenix Head Light review
Bought this head light for work. But it's so good I have decided to use it for fishing and mountain walking instead.

I was told that it had a good beam setting, and when tested it didn't let me down.

It has four range settings, starting from a small torch effect light, to a powerful strong beam (nearly as good as the light on my van).

Takes 4 x AA Batteries, so don't use the full beam too often as it will only last for about 5 hrs if you are out on a nights fishing or walking.

All in all, I would recommend this to anyone who wants a good, simple to use head light. Robust and well worth the money!

excellent head torch
Very powerfull head torch build quality is excellent perfect for walking my whippets at night would recommend to any one

great for the price
I've always been a fan of maglite products and have owned several of them. Whilst this one is small and light (I keep it in my pocket for late night walks) the settings are very fiddly to operate. This torch only has one button and to select all of the fancy features like the dim setting you have to press the button and twist the torch so the dim icon then let go. the only problem is that in the dark you cannot see any of the icons so cannot use any of the functions without using another light.

But if you ignore all the fancy functions this still works very well as a basic lightweight torch.

Nice little beacon light
You really should think of this as a beacon/signalling light rather then a torch. It does have both low and high white solid modes but they are both pretty low and only of use for close up tasks.

Modes are selected by rotating the octagonal ring around the LED's. If left in any half stop position it will perform a slow single beacon flash for the purpose of locating the light if it is set down.

Red and orange LED's make up a number of different flashing modes, many of which are very eye-catching.

Good for being seen rather then seeing with.

Runs on a single CR123 battery. Not compatible with RCR123 so primaries only unfortunately.

Solid construction and feels like it will last a long time. The battery does last a long time due to the nature of what it is.

Has a solid metal clip on the rear and comes with a number of accessories. Magnet clips, headband etc. Nice package.

Fairly expensive too but if you do need...
