Previous model has been great
This is a review of the prvious model, which this appears to improve on. Its a great tent, which we are now on our third year with it.
We bought this with the matching footprint (essential), fitted carpet (lovely) and side-extension (also essential). At first we followed the erection instructions that Outwell posted online and on Youtube - you had to peg one end only, put all the poles through the tent, then two of you walk forward and insert the "plugs" on the groundsheet into the bottoms of the poles, finally pegging out the groundsheet tightly at the far end. We found this very hard and fiddly to do, and was very heavy and cumbersome for my wife. So much so that I was losing faith in the tent, which was fine when it was up.
Then I saw another method of putting it up on another site (the "cross" method) and it is so much easier I can do it myself while my wife watches! This entails pegging the tent at each corner, then putting in one pole at a time and...
First rate
Took the tent to Snowdonia in November. Gale force winds, torrential hail and rain. Fantastic tent. Worth every penny. Kids agree.
