This is how to keep things cold. Take three or four empty four pint milk bottles. Three quarters fill with water and freeze. Anyhing you want to keep cold needs to be chilled BEFORE it goes in. (All food containers must be watertight.) You will also need a lot of ice cubes (buy bags from the supermarket).

The cool box should be the last thing you pack. Place your large blocks of ice in the cool box, add the food and drink, cover in ice cubes.

When away keep lid open for as short a time as possible. Do not drain away the melted ice (cold water refrigerates better than air).

This is going to be heavy so be sure this is the size you want, and remember to place the box as near to the middle of your car as possible.

Used properly this box will not let you down. I used it camping for just 4 days in up to 30 degree heat but it had lots of life left in it at the end of the trip.
