Very comfortable walking boots!
These boots are so comfortable! I have been struggling with a very expensive pair of leather walking boots for a number of years, trying to break them in. I gave up and ordered these North Face boots. From the minute I put them on they were comfortable. I have been for several long walks and not a blister in sight. Last weekend I was walking in the pouring rain which later turned to sleet. By the end of the walk I was wet through and frozen, apart from my feet which were toasty and dry. A great pair of quality boots!

I had great expectations for this boot and once on, they are quite impressive in terms of comfort and warmth, the problem however, is getting them on!

The lining seems to slip down like a sock under the heal and it's very difficult to get it back in place. It's necessary to squeeze ones fingers inside and try to manoeuvre the inner lining back up.
I ordered the boot half a size bigger than I normally take but even this is still quite tight. I cant imagine wearing them with ski socks as there's no way I could get the boots on. It actually puts me off wearing them as I need at least 5 mins to get them properly adjusted - such a pity.
It would have helped if the seller had mentioned that the boots are 'very tight fitting'.

I have these in black, and would really recommend for British winters.

Warm, waterproof and very snug, these boots are fab in wintry conditions. Watch out for ice though - as any shoe/boot, these don't grip ice and because they're snow boots you can get a false sense of security.

Do be aware of sizing. These are, for me, a snug fit so I wouldn't get away with very thick socks. However a larger size boot would not have been well fitting at all. The boots are so warm though, regular socks are fine.

Lovely looking boot and was happy to wear them on a visit to Olso in the snow! However within a few hours I had blisters on both heels and found the boots very difficult to wear . The heel rubs because the back of the boot is quite hard and the laces prevent the ankle area being pulled in tight enough to stop friction. Shame because they look great! I shall try to soften them for the next time I wear them but at moment, a week later, my heels are still too sore to even contemplate putting on boots!
