Improved Surge out soon - Do not buy this one!!!
The Surge is a fantastic heavy duty multi-tool, but Leatherman has just announced an improved Surge with replaceable wire cutters and the improved unique blade exchanger, which can take other thinner T shank bits from Bosch etc. If you are looking to buy a Surge, wait till July and you can get the improved version. leatherman multi tool Surge
Only disadvantage is the weight but otherwise it hasnt failed me. The scissors are excellent and the design of all the elements is excellent. It is a bit disappointing to only have one screwdriver (the biggest one) in situ and I found I needed to accessory set of scewdriver heads containing about 48 alternative heads for the removable heads provided. This is an excellent accessory covering allan screws as well as philips and ordinary screwdrivers and fits in the pouch without making it bulky. Also the saw is incredibly sharp and does cut real wood and trees with a replaceable blade.

Great little EDC tool
I've been looking for a multi-tool for a very long time now and after much research I chose the leatherman Juice CS4, here are my reasons :

1. It is UK legal- meaning the knife blade is 3 inches or under and it does not lock. It's just like a victorinox swiss army knife blade.
2. This was the only one that had all the tools I wanted and did not weigh a ton.(5.5 ounces)

The blade came nice and sharp out of the box, as did the saw.
The scissors are a great size and design. (maybe even pipping victorinox to the post)
The can/bottle opener is fine, I had read a lot of bad reviews about this but it was a lot better then I expected.
The corkscrew and awl I haven't used yet but they look like they could do their job. (the awl could be a bit sharper)
The pliers are great, very handy, helped my dismantle a table on the first day I had them.
The philips head screwdriver is again very handy, works fine but a little short maybe.
The 3 flat...

Compact & Useful but not lasting
Very compact and useful, with a useful variety of tools for everyday life. In your bag or atached to your belt, you soon find yourself reaching for it to solve life's little problems several times a day.

However, after initially being impressed, I am doubtful about the quality here. The tool only been used lightly, and always kept in a pouch otherwise, but the blue anodised finish seems prone to chipping along the edges. Worst of all howewer is the bottle opener blade. Its thin constuction has allowed it to push aside the slip joint which holds it open, distorting the frame and effectively making this blade bend back uselessly in use

Pretty faultless
If you have to carry just one multi-tool (and - owning quite a lot of them - I get to make that choice), this one's pretty faultless. I have the version without the crimping jaws or the 'get out of a seat belt' hook blade but it's the same other than those small features. The finish of manufacture is excellent, the selection of tools is sensible (especially things like the eye-glass size screwdriver). The scissors are good enough and every blade and tool lock, which is great. The knife blades are get-outable with a one handed motion. From a UK user's point of view, the pointy knife can get you busted for carrying it (unless you have a 'good reason')
