These boots are from my experience good, general walking boots. They have some notable qualities but 1 drawback :

1. They are lightweight, lace-up well, well padded inside and are very comfortable when walking, most notably on surfaces which offer limited shock absorption such as roads/concrete paths. Ventilation is OK, but my socks are often a bit moist in small patches from sweat after lengthy durations on hot days.

2. The toe area is nice and roomy for those of us with wide feet...

3. The ankle support is excellent. There must be some kind of rigid plate in the back area of the boot as it will not 'collapse' like some boots when you put them on and it gives tremendous support when worn.

4. Their grip in the dry is superb. I've just got back from mountain hiking...

NOT damp proof, a little wet grass is all it takes. Very comfortable but mine lasted 200 miles before the soles wore through and cracked.
