Perfect tent for Bikers
This tent is superb. When packed its very small and will bungee onto the top of your top-box perfectly. When open its huge and you can stand up in it. The living area is 2.1m x 2.1m and it is all usable due to the clever tunnel design, no sloping sides, plenty of room to store your biking gear and yourself. Have used it twice since bought once in sunshine and good conditions and once in the apocalypse on North Hill in Minehead. It withstood high winds and hail stones and didn't leak and kept its rigidity throughout. The space out front is large enough to sit in and get your wet gear off, if you aren't too shy, should you get caught by the weather and don't want to tramp all your wet stuff into the inner tent. I have camped in small 2 man tents for years because of the packed size of larger ones being unable to carry on the bike but this tent is a revelation. Absolutely brilliant.
Great idea but needs some improvement.
I realised on my last camping trip that my stiff limbs aren't up to crawling into a small tent anymore but I didn't want people to think I'm into 'glamping'! I've had 2 previous tents - both have been 2/3 man domes and have always prided myself in being able to pitch them in some extreme weathers in different parts of the world.
This 'tunnel tent' seemed perfect giving a more practical living space but with the same portability of my other tents. You can get roomy 'domes' with a porch but they have 3 poles and this achieves the same effect with only 2 - right?
Wrong. Yes, it has a fantastic amount of room inside for the weight. Yes, nice attention to detail with pockets and a hook for a lantern. No it isn't heavy for the size (despite other reviews here) - the only way of improving on the weight is going for aluminium poles and those tents are well over
