HANDY WALKING GADGET
After connecting with satellites [easy] I slip this into my pocket when I go for my morning walk. It records the distance, time,speed, calories, altitude, and seems accurate except the altimeter [maybe it shouldn't be kept in the pocket]. It has a walking and cycling mode, and will fit onto the front of the cycle, recording speed etc and functions well. The battery lasts about 15 hours. I bought mine in a sale at Maplin but it's no longer available there. I've knocked a star off for the altimeter.

This is listed twice on Amazon. I reviewed "my" one, but thought I'd add my review to this listing, as I struggled to find reviews when I was looking. Here goes...
It's a versatile unit, usually picking up satellite signals within a couple of minutes. My main use is a speedo / trip recorder for my bike. However, it does far more.. use it for logging walks and other travels. It works fine in my car, and I've taken it on holiday to record day trips, and to hopefully geo-tag my photographs. (Haven't tried this yet, as I am on holiday now, and forgot to activate the software on my laptop with the key before I left!) The supplied software won't work with Google maps, but there is a free download of a fully working replacement on the Holux website. My main niggle, is there are 4 modes (Biking, Running, Walking & Vehicle) but only 2 odometers to record these modes, so you need to remember which one to choose.
