Fantastic but could still be better
I bought this pack for a particularly tough 50 miler. It is the second nathan I have bought, the other being the small version for hydration so I already new about the build quality, I was interested in the extra capacity. For that particular event the kit listed included, full waterproof kit, spare socks, spare top, maps, mug, first aid, food, drink and a few other small items. I had to think hard about kit choice but I got it all in - just! The trouble is packs tend to distort when they are over full (not the packs fault) but it was still the most comfortable sack i have ever used for a biggy, and having used it since - more reasonably loaded its been superb. That said I would actually find it better still if it was a little longer in the torso and i'm only 5'10". Now the real niggle, the hydration idea of two bladders combined (water and fuel) is just way to fussy, infact almost a waste of time. If you fill up with water you cant get very much energy drink in at all the secnd...

Excellent piece of kit.
Well designed and constructed back pack. Nice separation for the bladder and plenty of useful pockets for stowage. Pack sits nice and high on the back and strap adjustment is good.

Great hydration pack
I brought this pack as I am training for a 100 mile race and needed something to carry all the mandatory gear as well as provide enough hydration between checkpoints. I went for the Nathan over say a Camelbak because of the innovative fit concept; they have not gone down the route of simply putting a bladder in a back pack. This pack is called a 'vest' as it fits more like a vest with pockets on the back for the baldder and pockets on the front for other small essentials.

I've run over 400 miles with this pack now and it is great in use. You have to get used to the fact that you don't tighten lots of straps go make sure that there is no movement of the pack at all, there are simply a few adjuster straps on the shoulder straps and one moveable buckle on the front, couldn't be easier. The pack does move a bit in use but it feels like this is in harmony with your normal running and not against it. The material of the straps and back is super soft and wicking, I would have...

Best Hydration Pack Bar None
As a pretty serious marathon runner, I have wasted a lot of money on various hydration systems but I was very glad when I finally came across this one, it's absolutely superb and I've now been using it for the last 2 years with no problems. I typically only take hydration packs on 18 mile + runs, so I demand something super comfortable and reliable.

The best things about it are:

Very comfortable when on
Does not move around at all when running
Has a number of useful pockets
Absolutely superb mouth piece design

I really can't find anything wrong with this product and there's very little I would do to change it.

A good tip for cleaning this (or indeed any hydration pack) is to sterilise before use using baby feeding steriliser tablets because they are hard to clean properly and dry perfectly.
